Description

“Family relations” is a shabby chic still life: a shelf with a bouquet, a candle, small bottles and the large letters HOME.

What the picture shows

The composition is built from small details in a beige, silver and brown range. At the top hangs a dark openwork plaque with the word FAMILY, next to a small frame holding a bucket of greenery. Below stands a metal pail with a bunch of large round flowers resembling sunflowers, glass bottles with green necks, starfish on thin sticks, a candle in a tall holder and a little chest of three drawers. The raised letters HOME run across the centre. The whole surface is densely covered with beads of different sizes, so the finished work is textured, almost in relief; the background is pale, with a soft shadow and a white fringe along the bottom.
