Bead Embroidery Kit on Art Canvas "Fairytale deer"

“Fairytale deer” is a Christmas stocking with a deer in a knitted jumper on a graphite ground. The mood is festive, but the dark background keeps it restrained.

What the picture shows

A russet deer with large white antlers stands in the centre. Its face is pale, its eyes round, and its body is covered by a jumper with a diamond pattern worked in beads — the brightest part of the piece. Above the deer runs an English Christmas greeting in white handwriting, also laid out in beads. Small motifs are scattered around: turquoise sprigs with berries, blue snowflakes, red dots and white stars. They do not cover the ground completely, so the graphite printing of the canvas stays visible and reads as a night sky. A blue beaded border follows the outline of the stocking from the cuff down to the toe and heel. The eleven colours are placed so that the russet deer and white antlers hold the centre while the cool blue and turquoise details spread to the edges.
