Description

“Emerald Talisman” is a crescent necklace with a green scarab in an Egyptian setting.

What the picture shows

The ground is worked in deep blue and ink-coloured beads with golden rosettes. A scarab sits in the middle: a green carapace and copper-red legs, framed by golden arcs that divide the necklace into three parts. Fans of blue, turquoise and terracotta rays open at the sides like stylised lotuses, with turquoise dragonflies showing between them. Orange and green sequins lie around in a circle like small discs. The canvas is covered completely and the edge is outlined in gold. Nineteen colours rest on the contrast of blue and gold. The scarab's wings are divided by a golden band, so the beetle never merges with the dark ground.
