Description

“Sweet sugar” is a tiny heart-shaped key ring with a ladybird in a red bow sitting among green grass.

What the picture shows

The ladybird is worked round and domed: a deep wine-red rim around the back, red wing cases with black spots inside it, a cream crescent of a face and two large black eyes. A red bow with two loops sits on its head, and fine amber antennae are laid in single beads. To the left and right two tufts of grass grow in several shades of green, from lime to emerald, with long stems curving down. The background stays printed on the canvas — a white-and-blue strip of ground and a white sky. The finished embroidery is set into the acrylic heart, so both the beads and the printed ground show through.
