Description

“Smile” is a heart-shaped key ring with a grey bird holding yellow flowers and a striped balloon on a thread beside it.

What the picture shows

The bird stands in profile: a body of smoky grey beads with a cool sheen, wing and tail in amber-brown, and a cream breast and collar. Two yellow flowers with round centres sit in front of it, and thin pink legs are printed on the canvas below. On the left a balloon rises on a fine thread, laid in alternating rows of pink, yellow and cream beads. The rest of the field is plain white canvas with a fine weave: the ground is not beaded and stays printed, which is exactly what makes the beadwork read clearly. The finished piece goes into the acrylic heart with its ring.
