Description
“Dance on Ice” shows a figure skater in a red dress gliding past a fir tree, with the whole movement drawn on the canvas.
What the picture shows
There is little beadwork here and it works as accents: green beads build the fir tree, red ones the skater’s skirt and scarf, and a few more red dots sit on the branches as lights. The rest is printed: greyish-beige ice, a figure blurred in motion, shadows under the skates. The circle is trimmed with red beads, and that is what turns a drawing into an ornament. A white ribbon is tied in a bow on top. The ground is deliberately left open: in this series the beads underline the picture rather than replace it.

The two parts of the work are sewn together, the fiberfill goes inside and a ribbon loop is drawn out — the result is a soft Christmas ornament. The kit is meant for beginners: the pattern is printed straight on the canvas, there are five bead colours and only the accents need beading. The fir branch, cones, scissors and thread reel in the photo are styling props and are not included.
