Paint by numbers kits ask no drawing skill: the canvas is divided into numbered areas and every number matches a pot of paint. Two formats are available, 300×300 and 400×500 mm, using between 10 and 23 colours.

What is included

  • Canvas with the outline and area numbers printed on it.
  • Acrylic paints in numbered pots, with nothing to mix.
  • Nylon brushes in several thicknesses.
  • A final varnish.

You add a jar of water, a cloth for the brushes and a flat surface.

Questions and answers

Do I need to know how to paint?

No. The outline and numbers are printed and the paints are ready to use.

In what order should I work?

Top to bottom, large areas before small ones, one colour at a time. If the outline shows through, let the coat dry for 15–20 minutes and go over it again.

What is the varnish for?

It evens out the sheen, protects against dust and lets you wipe the picture with a damp cloth. Apply it only to a completely dry painting, at least a day after the last stroke.

Can a child take part?

Yes, from about 7 or 8; the 300×300 mm format with fewer colours is the easier one.
