Beaded brooch kits cover 146 designs. Each is bead embroidery on artist canvas with the full-colour pattern printed on it, supplied with Preciosa beads and the brooch back. Sizes run from 44×70 to 65×95 mm, with 1,000–2,500 beads; 136 kits are rated medium.

What is included

  • Artist canvas with the printed design.
  • Czech Preciosa beads, and on some kits microbeads and decorative stones.
  • A needle.
  • The brooch back and the materials to finish the reverse.
  • Step-by-step illustrated instructions for stitching and assembly.

Subjects

Decorative motifs (58 kits), animals and birds (33), insects (17), flowers (10), winter (9), romantic designs (6), patriotic designs (5) and marine subjects (3). The insects are a recognisable line of their own: dragonflies, butterflies and beetles worked with microbeads and stones.

How long it takes

4–10 hours depending on size and the amount of fine detail. A 44×70 mm brooch is roughly one evening; a 65×95 mm design with microbeads takes two or three.

Questions and answers

Is the pin back included?

Yes, the brooch back comes with the kit along with the materials for finishing the reverse.

Is the finished brooch heavy?

No. The base is thin canvas, so the piece is light and does not drag on the fabric.

Is it suitable for a beginner?

Most kits are rated medium: the work is fine but short. If you have never done bead embroidery, start with a magnet or a bracelet.

How do I care for a beaded brooch?

Do not wash it; clean it locally with a damp cloth and store it away from sharp objects.
