Cross stitch collar kits are neck pieces worked in thread rather than beads. The stitched area is 240×210 mm on 14 or 18 count Aida, using 10–20 colours of floss at a medium level of difficulty.

How long it takes
30–50 hours depending on coverage and fabric count. On 18 count the design is crisper but there are more stitches.
Questions and answers
Do I need a hoop?
Yes. Aida is soft, and without even tension the stitches come out different sizes.
Can the finished collar be washed?
Yes, by hand in warm water, dried flat. Unlike beaded jewellery, a textile collar takes it.
Are the findings included?
Yes, the kit covers everything for stitching and finishing the piece.
