How an embroidered icon works
The face and hands stay printed on the canvas — the traditional approach, which keeps the canonical look of the image. The robes, the halo, the ornament and the background are worked in beads. That contrast, a painted face framed by shimmering beadwork, is what makes an embroidered icon recognisable.

Is this a finished icon or a kit?
A finished work. Kits to stitch yourself are in icons and amulets.
Can a personalised icon be commissioned?
Yes, by the name of the patron saint. A manager confirms the terms.
How do I check availability?
Get in touch; availability of a particular piece is confirmed by a manager.
Why is the face not beaded?
It is the icon-painting tradition carried into embroidery: the face stays painted while everything else is worked in beads.
