Description

“Sweet dream” is a tiger asleep, curled up among tropical greenery. Its muzzle rests on a paw and its eyes are closed, so the piece is about calm rather than strength.

What the picture shows

The fur runs through orange, russet, gold and cream with black stripes, and the pale areas around the muzzle and on the paws are almost white. Around the tiger are large monstera leaves in green, yellow, pink and lilac, fans of palm foliage, and open hibiscus flowers along the edges in crimson, pink and purple. The deep blue-violet background stays as print on the canvas and pushes all the greenery forward. The tiger, the leaves and the flowers are beaded; the microbeads add fine sparkle at the leaf tips and in the flower centres. The stripes along the tiger's back run in crisp lines and blur into shadow on its side, so the body looks rounded rather than flat.
