Description

“Lord of the Depths” shows a whale rising out of the waves into a starry night sky. The format is narrow and tall, so the whale runs diagonally across almost the entire canvas.

What the picture shows

The back and head of the whale are worked in gold and sand beads, the belly in blue with turquoise and emerald inserts that read like scales. A gold crescent moon glows at the upper left, with stars and small gold marks scattered around it. Below are blue waves, laid in undulating rows of beads in many shades, from deep blue to almost white on the crests. The dark starry background stays as print on the canvas, and a thin gold border runs around the edge, stitched as well.
