Description

“Guardian of the Sky” is a guardian angel against a deep night-blue ground, hands folded in prayer, a golden rayed halo behind the head. The wings are built from two materials at once: warm gold upper feathers and lower ones in blue and smoky glass that catches the light at an angle. Long blue robes fall to the very bottom of the picture, where grasses and small wildflowers are scattered.

What the picture shows

This is the most jewel-like design in the range. Alongside seed beads it uses bugle beads (124 pcs), decorative glass stones in four shapes — drops, axes, ovals — and three kinds of sequins. They are what give the wings their depth and the stars their shimmer. The halo is set with bugle-bead rays, and the concentric gold circles behind the angel form a separate layer of stitching that anchors the figure at the centre.
