Description

“The master of reincarnations” shows a chameleon on a curved branch, worked in a hot red-orange and emerald palette. Its tail winds into a tight spiral that closes the composition at the bottom.

What the picture shows

The body shifts as it goes: a turquoise-green head with a large round eye ringed in red, then a crest of flame-like spikes along the spine, then copper-red legs and tail flecked with small dots. The branch is dark brown, with green leaves and small pink berries growing off it, and a little butterfly sits to the left. The background is almost white, carrying a pale green plant ornament, and it stays as print on the canvas — which is why the bright figure reads on it like an appliqué.
