Description

“Find your way” shows an antique compass rose against a starry sky. The points spread out in every direction, and clouds and waves can be made out along the bottom of the canvas.

What the picture shows

The compass circle is built in several bands: an outer rim of turquoise beads, then a dark ring carrying the cardinal letters, then gold and emerald rays converging on the central rosette. Four sharp spires worked in gold project from the corners of the rose. The dark blue-turquoise nebula behind it stays as print on the canvas, with single beaded stars scattered over it and a gold wave line along the bottom — that line is the only hint of the sea.
