Description

“Floral inspiration” is a bouquet of irises in a pastel, rainbow-toned palette. The flowers grow upward and slightly outward, filling the whole canvas, with a pink and pale-blue background showing between them.

What the picture shows

Six large irises open at different heights: the petals move from white and pale pink into lilac and blue, and each heart is marked with an orange beard. The long narrow leaves below are worked in green, peach and coral — they are stitched too, not left as print. The background is broken into soft patches of lilac, mint and light blue. Beadwork covers almost the entire surface, so the piece comes out dense and asks for patience — there are over twelve thousand beads here.
