Main Bead Embroidery Kit Under the viburnum
Description
“Under the viburnum” shows a bright autumn tree leaning over snow-covered ground, with two birds taking off from beneath its branches. The picture is built on the meeting of warm and cold.
What the picture shows
The crown fills the entire upper half of the canvas and is beaded in a mosaic of colour: orange, red, yellow, green, blue and violet leaves lie side by side as small strokes, with clusters of red berries hanging between them. The trunk and branches are dark, almost black with lilac highlights, and they cut diagonally across the whole picture. Below, everything changes: the ground is pale blue, scattered with white sprigs of hoar frost worked in silver and pearl beads that look like frost patterns on glass. Two birds with yellow breasts and black-and-white wings fly down from the tree towards those frosted branches. The background is a cold blue sky with small snowflakes, and it stays as print on the artist canvas. The border between autumn and winter runs roughly across the middle of the picture, and the whole subject rests on it.
