Description

“Where the fairytale live” is a tree of life with a spreading crown and deep roots on a dark grey ground, framed by a border of climbing shoots.

What the picture shows

Trunk and roots are worked in several shades of bronze and gold, so you can follow the separate strands as they twist into the trunk and part again below. The crown is made of turquoise, blue and emerald leaves, each filled as its own patch; two birds perch among the branches and flowers open like snowflakes. A golden shoot with leaves and spiral curls runs around the border, and the space between the branches is sown with fine gold specks. The background stays as bare canvas — beads cover only the tree and the frame, which makes crown and roots look lit against the matte grey. The branches spread almost symmetrically while the trunk bends slightly in the middle, so the tree never looks schematic. Fine gold specks in the corners and along the edges pick up the colour of the trunk.
