Description

“I guess” shows a fluffy multicoloured cat with its head tilted up, watching a single gold star in the corner of the sky. The mood is a quiet evening, the kind worth making a wish on.

What the picture shows

The cat fills almost the whole canvas and is worked in the widest palette in the kit — 31 colours. The fur is laid in short strokes that fan out from the body: ginger, ochre and gold strands mixed with turquoise, blue, pink, violet and white. The generous tail curls upwards and nearly reaches the back, while the chest and paws are lighter, almost cream. The face is round, with large green eyes, a pink nose and long white whiskers drawn as thin lines straight across the dark ground. That ground — deep graphite with a narrow turquoise band at the bottom, like a distant horizon — stays as print on the canvas. Beadwork covers the cat and the small gold star at the upper right, so the coloured fur glows against the matte base.
