Description

“Sweet dreams” is a dreamcatcher in the night sky, framed by two sweeping waves of stardust. Dark in colour, but very festive in its shine.

What the picture shows

A large circle sits at the centre with an ornamental web inside it: the core is built from orange and gold rays around a star, and then come rings of pink, magenta and violet beads with fine geometric patterning. Feathers hang below in pink, lilac, turquoise and orange, each strung with beads and small pendants. Two broad arcs of stardust cross the canvas diagonally, worked from white and pearl into peach and magenta. The background is deep blue and violet sprinkled with small stars, and it stays as print on the canvas. Glass drops and bicones give a few of the stars genuine relief. The two arcs sweep in opposite directions and close the circle on the diagonal, so the composition feels in motion, as if the dreamcatcher were turning.
