Description

“Thinking of you” turns three light bulbs into small vases with water and flowers, with the words Thinking of you scattered across the piece. The mood is warm and a little naive, like a card for someone close.

What the picture shows

Three glass bulbs hang on threads against a dark teal ground with a printed fern pattern; water and small blossoms show inside each of them. Large flowers grow out of the bulbs: a yellow gerbera with a dark centre, red poppies, a red-orange bloom with a blue heart, pink flower clusters and tiny yellow stars. The leaves are teal and emerald, stitched one at a time. Along the top the word Thinking is worked in silvery white beads, while the hanging tags carry of and YOU. A small bee sits at the lower left. Thirty bead colours handle the gradients in the petals, and the fern background stays as print on the canvas. The composition is vertical and built in three tiers: the lettering at the top, the flowers in the middle, the signed tag at the lower right.
