Description

“Magnolias bloom” shows a magnolia branch in flower on a turquoise-green ground. A calm spring subject set inside a circle.

What the picture shows

A dark branch runs diagonally across the whole piece, carrying large open magnolia flowers: the petals shade from milky white and soft pink into lilac and violet, with warm peach veins near the base. Closed buds and narrow green leaves sit alongside, stitched separately so the branch comes out rounded. The background — a watercolour wash of turquoise, emerald and blue — stays as print on the canvas: beads cover only the flowers and the branch, which is why they glow against the matte colour. Twenty-eight bead colours carry the fine gradients inside every petal. The branch enters from the lower left corner and leads the eye diagonally upwards, while the smallest flowers and buds gather at the lower right, where the composition closes.
