Description

“Gate to infinity” is a tree of life in blues and turquoises stitched on a dark starry ground. The composition is symmetrical and meditative.

What the picture shows

The trunk is made of several parallel bead lines that separate higher up into wavy branches and coil into spirals. Pale, almost white leaves with a pearl sheen sit along the branches, together with round curls of turquoise, blue and violet beads; faceted stones are set in several places and act as the centres of those spirals. The crown is dense, yet gaps remain between the branches through which the dark ground shows. Dandelion-like circles with rays and dots are scattered under the tree and along the edges, and a large spiral resembling a galaxy appears at the top. The background is dark violet flecked with tiny specks; it stays as print, and the beadwork over it gives a sense of inner glow. No two branches repeat: each one ends in a curl of its own, so the crown looks drawn by hand.
