Main Bead Embroidery Kit Aquamarine
Description
“Aquamarine” is an abstract burst of a flower in turquoise tones on a pale marbled ground. The piece is contemporary and decorative: it does not depict any particular plant but plays with shape and colour instead.
What the picture shows
Long curved rays of petals spread out from the centre, laid in bead rows of varying length — from near-black and graphite through to bright turquoise, aquamarine and pale blue. The core is the densest part: fine beads and faceted stones build a raised centre that catches the light and pulls the eye in. The background is grey and black bleeding across white, like ink spreading through water; it stays as print on the canvas, and the beadwork sits over it as a separate raised layer. A few rays deliberately break away from the main mass and reach right to the edges, so the flower looks alive and moving rather than a symmetrical rosette. Along several rays the beads shift colour gradually, dark at the base and pale at the tip, which makes each ray look longer than it is.
