“Cadence-3” in the white-background version: a thin crescent moon on clean pale canvas. The most pared-back piece in the series.

What the picture shows

The only shape on the canvas is a narrow crescent turned with its horns to the right. It is beaded in warm gold, copper and sand — dense along the outer edge and thinning toward the inner one, where the beads break into separate dots and slowly disappear. That is what makes the crescent look lit, as if the rim of the moon had just moved out of shadow. The background is not beaded at all: the white canvas stays empty across its whole surface, and that emptiness is what gives the piece its air. This kit has the fewest beads and the shortest colour list in the series, so the work goes quickly and suits a first try at beading.
