Description

“Cadence-2” in the white-background version: half a moon, cut down the middle. The second part of a series in which the moon gradually wanes.

What the picture shows

A half disc lies on the pale vertical canvas — rounded on the left, with an almost straight right edge that breaks into scattered beads, as if it were dissolving into the air. The disc is beaded in the same warm tones as the first piece in the series: gold, copper, sand and cream, with a few bright yellow crater rosettes. Toward the straight edge the beads thin out into dots, so the border stays soft instead of forming a hard line. The background is left unbeaded: the white canvas stays clean, and the half moon reads as a patch of warm light on it.
