Description

“Purring” shows a big striped cat leaning over a ginger kitten and touching it with its nose. It is a picture about care and warmth, in spite of the wintry background.

What the picture shows

The upper cat is grey and white, with clear dark stripes, long whiskers and half-closed eyes; its fur is worked in short bead strokes that follow the direction of growth. The kitten below is ginger and white, lying on its back with tucked paws and a relaxed face. Snow falls around them — white beads and small snowflakes over a blue-lilac ground, with a warm vertical band on the left that reads as a wooden wall. At the bottom centre sits an orange medallion holding two stylised cats, one white and one ginger, curled around each other. The background stays as watercolour print, while the beadwork carries the animals, the snow and the medallion.
