Description

“Moon walk” is a decorative night scene in which a cat walks across a carpet of moons, spirals and waves.

What the picture shows

At the centre stands an elongated striped cat in golden ochre with a long tail, looking straight at the viewer. Around it the background breaks into large circles and segments: a white moon covered in lacy pattern at the upper left, pale blue discs on the right, turquoise and deep blue fields filled with curls, nets and small spirals. In the lower right corner a second, lighter cat is curled up as if asleep. The whole surface is densely beaded, so the finished work reads as a mosaic: gold, ochre, white, sky blue and deep blue alternate in large patches. The glass hemispheres and bicones from the kit add raised accents over the beaded ground.
