Description

“Blue gold” shows a betta fighting fish whose sweeping translucent fins take up almost the whole canvas.

What the picture shows

The upper fin opens like a fan and is worked in cool shades, from pale blue and mint to deep ultramarine, with white veins radiating outwards. The body is warmer — violet-blue, densely sprinkled with gold and copper beads that read as scales. The lower fins fall in long ribbons and the tail is almost transparent, built from thin lines of beads. The background is the plain dark grey of the canvas with no detail at all: it is deliberately empty so that attention stays on the fish. Beadwork covers only the figure and never crosses its outline, so the finished piece looks like a raised silhouette on matte graphite.
