Description

“Having a Dessert” shows a little doll in a pink cat-eared hat standing at the window of a Parisian patisserie. She holds a basket of flowers; the sign above reads Patisserie, and behind the glass you can see pastries and cakes on tiered stands, with a chalkboard menu by the door. Trees in tubs flank the entrance, butterflies drifting above them.

What the picture shows

The whole picture is kept in pastel pink, and the doll is the point of focus: a grey polka-dot dress, pink scarf and boots, fair hair. The tree canopies are beaded as separate small sprigs, which is what gives them their depth. The glass half-domes included in the kit go on the pastries and the window display — they catch the light and read as icing.
