Description

“About love” is a Valentine still life: two glass jars filled with twigs, and paper and fabric hearts hanging from the branches with short messages on them. The mood is homely and a little naive, kept in a pink and red palette.

What the picture shows

On the left stands a blue jar with a purple bow and a band reading LOVE; on the right a pink one with a heart on its label. Slim twigs with red berries rise from them, along with lilac spikes that look like lavender. Hearts of different sizes and textures hang from the branches: a checked pink one, glossy red ones reading Be Mine, XOXO and Hugs, a soft pink one saying Cutie pie, and one more lying on the table below with True love written across it. The white plank wall behind stays as print on the artist canvas, while the beadwork does its job on the jars, the hearts, the berries and the green leaves.
