Description

“Art fashion” shows five lip prints set one below another on a dark canvas. The piece is graphic and emphatically modern — almost a poster.

What the picture shows

The composition is stripped down: a narrow vertical canvas in deep grey and five kiss marks running from top to bottom, each offset from the last. The topmost print is saturated blue with a violet sheen, below it a gold one with warm ochre and lilac shifts, then raspberry pink, then smoky grey with a pink cast, and the lowest silvery white. Each mark is worked in fine beads with visible gaps and a ragged edge, so the texture really does read like a print on paper — denser at the centre, scattered at the rim. There are fourteen colours, all of them working on the gradations inside each pair of lips. The background stays as plain print with no beadwork, and it is precisely that empty dark field that makes the composition so crisp.
