Description

“Book stories” shows three shelves of books and winter oddments in a narrow vertical format. The mood is December-ish and domestic, with cocoa and pine in the air.

What the picture shows

The canvas is tall and narrow, and the background — dark wooden shelves — stays as print. Books stand along them in close rows: the spines are beaded in amber, cream, deep green and wine, some carrying titles, small ornaments, snowflakes and stars. Objects are set between the books: a large mug of cocoa with a marshmallow, a small fir tree of beaded loops, a gold deer, a candle in a holder, another tree with a star on top, a snow globe with a little house inside, an owl and a lantern with a warm flame. The palette is warm — gold, copper, cream, deep green — and silver snowflakes add the sparkle.
