Description

“Easy breath” shows two feathers on a black lace circle, worked in pearl-white beads. The composition stays light and airy despite the saturated ground.

What the picture shows

The square canvas has a warm ochre-yellow background with visible brushwork texture, and it stays as print. Over it sits an openwork black circle like a lace doily: dense arcs, points and small loops in black beads, with white pearls set around the rim. Two feathers lie across it. One is long, with a fine shaft and separate barbs, each stitched as a row of small beads; the other curls into a spiral and recalls a peacock plume, with a round eye at the top. Both are pale — cream, pearl, with silver and beige transitions — and turquoise stones are scattered along them as the single cool accent.
