Description

“The tenderness” shows two wolves touching muzzles. The upper one leans down, the lower one reaches up with closed eyes, and the whole scene rests on that quiet movement.

What the picture shows

The composition is vertical and built on the contrast between two coats. The upper wolf is cool: grey-blue fur shot through with lilac, pink and near-white, the bead rows following the direction of the hair. The lower one is warm: rust, orange, ochre and purple beads that darken towards the chest. The background is split on the diagonal — pale blue above, terracotta pink below — with a white Celtic knot pattern showing in both corners. That background stays as print on the canvas and only the animals are beaded, so the fur comes out textured and alive against a calm ground.
