Description

“Crystal spray fly” is a fantasy landscape with a waterfall, a rainbow bridge and a crescent moon that wraps around the whole scene. The subject is fairy-tale, in blue and turquoise.

What the picture shows

A waterfall drops from a height in the centre, worked in white and pale blue beads; a rainbow arches above it, and beyond lie mountains and a bright sun in haze. On the left a tree with a rounded crown leans in, covered in white blossom, with a green slope spreading beneath it. A large crescent moon frames the composition, shading through the rainbow from green to pink. Star-shaped flowers, white butterflies and small sparkles are scattered over a deep blue and violet background. Beadwork covers almost the whole surface, leaving only the pale sky in the centre as print, so the picture looks like a panel of stained glass. The crescent works as a frame inside the frame: everything within it is light and warm, everything outside is dark and strewn with stars. The rainbow over the water is short and flat, thrown like a small bridge from bank to bank.
