Description

“Wonder Tree” is a Christmas tree hung with teddy bears instead of ordinary ornaments. There are more than fifteen of them: one peers out from behind a branch, another holds a star, a third wears a green scarf. A gold star sits at the top, wrapped presents are stacked underneath, and the silhouette of a reindeer sleigh shows faintly in the deep blue sky.

What the picture shows

The design is vertical and densely beaded — the tree fills almost the whole canvas. The bears' fur is worked in warm ochre tones with gradients; the baubles are red, blue, pink and gold, with candles and small stars adding points of light. The blue background with its frost pattern stays as painting, which pushes the tree forward.
