Description

“A Sea of Joy” is a golden retriever riding a surfboard through a turquoise wave. The dog wears a red life vest that reads PARADISE, ears flying, spray bursting off the water. The design is square, bright and unapologetically happy — the kind of picture that lifts the mood every time you walk past it.

What the picture shows

Water is what makes this one work. Foam and spray are worked in Preciosa #13 microbeads in six colours: the tiny beads give a shimmering grain you simply cannot get with standard seed beads. The wave shifts from emerald to deep blue, the dog's coat from cream to honey. The sky stays as painted background.
