Description

“Guitar sounds” shows an electric guitar standing inside a burst of colour. The picture is about sound, shown as paint exploding around the instrument.

What the picture shows

The guitar stands upright, almost centred: a rounded body in warm brown and gold shading from dark edge to bright middle, with black plates and gleaming knobs. The neck and headstock are blue-violet, with clear frets and white tuning pegs. To the right of the body a yellow-orange flame rises; to the left, pink, crimson and lilac ribbons fan out like combed feathers. The background is pale blue and white, so all the colour around the instrument glows. Green strokes push in at the bottom. Beads cover the guitar and the main bursts of colour, while the finest filaments and splashes stay as print on the canvas, which is exactly what keeps them looking weightless.
