Description

“Nest” is a large glowing nest under a starry sky with two white birds standing on top of it. A warm window of light shines inside the nest, and golden rays spread outward from it.

What the picture shows

The nest fills the centre of the vertical canvas and is woven from long amber, copper and gold lines that curl into spirals all the way down. A dark opening sits at its heart, pouring yellow light, and two rounded eggs can be made out inside. Two white herons with long necks stand still at the top of the nest. Trees rise on either side: a crown of lilac, blue and pink specks on the left, near-black branches flecked with purple on the right. The background is deep blue-black sky sown with small stars, and it stays as print on the canvas. The beads cover the nest, the birds, the trees and the light, so the warm rays really do glow against the cold night.
