Description

“Metric for a girl” is a baby record in pink tones where the child's name, date of birth, weight and height are written in. The writing field is shaped as a large white heart, with toys and nursery things arranged around it.

What the picture shows

The background is pink with small white polka dots, and a wide pink band with the words Baby girl runs along the bottom. A string of stitched figures hangs across the top: a doll in a bonnet, a moon, a pink teddy bear, a dress with a full skirt, a bunny and an elephant, with little stars and hearts dangling between them. A pink pram with a big wheel stands to the right of the heart, an open gift box to the left, and a yellow duckling, a rattle and small beads line up along the bottom. The beadwork covers all the figures, the frame of the heart and the small hearts, while the dotted background and the ruled lines stay as print, so the record can be filled in with an ordinary pen.
