Description

“Summer tree of life” is the summer version of the spiral tree motif. The entire crown is stitched in green beads across many shades, from near-lime to deep grass, over a warm greenish background.

What the picture shows

The trunk grows from the lower edge of the canvas and immediately breaks into dozens of curls that fill the whole vertical field. The branches are studded with small ornaments: black-and-white rectangles, discs with dark centres, triangles and golden dots. An amber-brown bird perches on a thick branch to the right, and a pale figure with a floral pattern stands beside the trunk. Along the bottom runs a strip of summer meadow with yellow, crimson and purple blossoms and green patches of grass. Beadwork covers the tree, the signs on its branches, the bird and the flowering band, while the soft green background stays as print, so the spirals read as relief laid over it.
