Main Bead Embroidery Kit Miracle of India
Description
“Miracle of India” is an elephant in festive Indian dress, shown head-on. The piece is assembled from dozens of small ornaments and flower rosettes.
What the picture shows
The elephant's head fills almost the entire canvas: broad ears, a long trunk, calm brown eyes. A headpiece of pink, turquoise and gold bands with a mandala flower at its centre sits on the forehead, and long pearl tassels hang from the ears. The trunk is wrapped in bands of different colours, each carrying its own rosette — orange, blue, raspberry. The tusks are pale, almost white, with beaded rings at the base. The background is pastel, shifting between grey-lilac and pink and strewn with small flowers and snowflake-like rosettes; some of them are stitched in beads, the rest stay as print, so the background stays alive without pulling attention away. Three wide flowered bands run down the trunk, with a narrow fringed strip below them. Behind the right ear you can see a tall arched opening like a temple doorway.
