Description

“Caravan of seasons” is a single tree whose crown brings all four seasons together. A square piece built as a picture within a picture: the central landscape sits inside a wide botanical frame.

What the picture shows

A sturdy tree with a broad crown stands at the centre, its foliage gathered from several seasons at once: white-pink spring blossom, lush green, gold and orange autumn leaves and lilac clusters. A village spreads out beneath it — a row of little houses with blue roofs, and in front of them a green meadow with blue and yellow flowers. A band of grey clouds carrying snow, stitched in white beads, hangs above the landscape. The frame is made of vertical branches: gold leaves with yellow pears on the left, green shoots with white blossom on the right. Beadwork covers the crown, the houses, the flowers and the branches of the frame, while the sky and the distant hills stay as print on the canvas. The trunk divides into two thick roots, with a pale path to the village showing between them.
