Description

“Dreamcatcher amulet” is a classic dreamcatcher against a watercolour sky. A vertical piece with long feathers hanging almost to the bottom edge of the canvas.

What the picture shows

At the top is a large hoop holding a spiral web woven in pale blue, white and silver beads; a lighter core sits at the centre of the spiral, with threads radiating outwards in rings. The hoop is wrapped in dark blue thread, and three smaller rings with the same webs hang beneath it. A long feather trails from each ring — deep blue with turquoise and white veins and a thin pale shaft down the middle. A few more feathers drift separately near the edges of the canvas. The background — blurred patches of violet, blue, orange and pink in a tie-dye manner — stays as print, while the rings, the webbing and the feathers are stitched in beads. Rows of pale beads run along the shafts of the feathers, picking out each barb.
