Description

“Pioughing” shows three dolphins in motion: two leaping out of the foam, the third swimming straight towards the viewer. A restrained blue-and-silver palette and only eight bead colours make this kit approachable even for a beginner.

What the picture shows

At the top two dolphins launch over the crest of a wave and break it into spray; the white foam and clouds of droplets are stitched in matte and pearl beads, so they sparkle. Below, in deep blue water, a large dolphin turns to face the viewer — grey-blue back, pale belly, turquoise rings spreading around it from the movement. The upper corner shows a pale, almost lilac sky with light clouds. Water and sky stay mostly as print on the canvas, while the beadwork covers the dolphins themselves, the foam and the highlights along the wave crests. The wave in the lower part curls into a wide turquoise arc that carries the eye from the bottom upwards.
