Description

“Winter fun” shows a fluffy curly creature, much like a plush puppy, standing on skis in a snowy forest. The subject is childlike and warm, with a smile in it.

What the picture shows

The little one holds the centre: pale beige curly fur, a black nose, a pink tongue sticking out and soft drooping ears. It wears a pale blue knitted hat with a turned-up brim and a matching high-necked jumper, both trimmed with sprigs of red berries. Its paws grip a pair of ski poles and short brown skis sit under its feet. Firs and a blue winter forest show behind, and snow falls from above, each flake stitched as a separate white bead. The background stays as print while the whole figure and its clothes are beaded, which gives the fur its rounded, fluffy look. The knit of the hat and jumper is rendered in clear ribbed rows, distinctly different from the loose curls of the fur. Smooth white snow with blue shadows lies below, and a darker band of firs closes the composition at the top.
