Description

“Funny game” shows three raccoons peering out from behind a fallen trunk, watching a butterfly. The piece is warm and quiet, kept in natural brown and beige tones.

What the picture shows

The largest raccoon sits on the right with its head turned to the side, so the dark mask around the eyes, the pale cheeks and the thick ruff are clearly visible. To the left, two more animals look out from behind the trunk with their paws on the bark — their faces are almost identical, with black noses and attentive eyes. A pine branch with long green needles and three large cones enters the frame from above. On the left a butterfly hangs in the air, its ochre wings marked with dark spots. The background is pale and pearly, with blurred blue and green patches. Beads cover the raccoons, cones, needles, butterfly and the bark of the trunk, while the soft background stays as print. The light comes from behind, so the edges of the fur are lightly rimmed. The composition runs on a diagonal, from the butterfly at the left to the large raccoon at the right.
