Description

“Sunny glade” shows two teddy bears out for a walk on a summer day: she in a blue dress, he in green dungarees and a straw hat with a basket in his paw.

What the picture shows

The girl bear stands on the left, a wreath of small flowers on her head, a full turquoise-blue polka-dot dress and a white collar. The boy bear on the right wears a blue shirt, green dungarees, an orange kerchief at his neck and carries a woven basket. They hold paws on a pale path with bushes of yellow and red flowers growing on either side. A green slope and trees lie beyond, a wide white-and-blue sky with soft clouds rises above, and a yellow butterfly flutters over one of the bushes. Beadwork covers the bears, their clothes, the flowering bushes and the path, while the watercolour sky and the far landscape stay as print on the artist canvas. The path below is laid out in pale beads with a golden sheen.
