Description

“Sweet tooth” is a long horizontal picture about a dachshund and dessert: the dog wears a lilac jumper with yellow flowers and sits among cupcakes, sweets and a slice of watermelon.

What the picture shows

The dachshund fills almost the whole width of the canvas — ginger, with a long muzzle, a black nose and one eye narrowed in mischief. Its jumper is stitched in saturated lilac beads and scattered with small yellow and orange flowers. Two cupcakes stand in front of the dog: one with pink frosting and a cherry on top, the other with a yellow base and green sprinkles. Beside them lie a red watermelon slice, lollipops and wrapped sweets, and cherries on a stem appear in the corners. The background is pink and lilac with lacy flower circles and the words “SWEET DREAM”. Beads cover the dog, the jumper, the sweets and part of the lettering, while the watercolour background stays as print on the artist canvas. The tail curls into a ring near the right edge and the paws stretch forward, so the pose is as carefree as the subject itself.
